The long-form format is great and Joe does pick interesting people, but he's become a vector for whatever's trending in conspiracy spaces. His handling of COVID misinformation was irresponsible and he never really addressed it properly. Still entertaining but less trustworthy than he used to be.

Joe's strength is that he's genuinely interested in whatever he's talking about and not pretending to be an expert on everything. But that's also his weakness—he'll nod along to conspiracy theories from comedians like they're facts. The whole 'I'm just asking questions' thing is lazy when you have 100+ million listeners.

JRE is hit or miss depending on the guest, which is the whole point I guess

Joe's genuinely curious and lets people talk, but he's also credulous as hell and spreads medical misinformation without pushback. The Spotify deal killed the vibe—content feels more calculated now and he's clearly avoiding certain topics.
